Commissioned Projects (cont.)
If the initial project summary is acceptable, we will enter a design phase. We require a $50 deposit in advance of
any detailed design work. This deposit covers the first hour of design work. Additional hours will be charged at
a rate of $25 per hour. Simpler projects may be designed by Porter Glass without charge. If necessary, Porter Glass will
conduct a site visit during the design phase. At the end of the design phase, you will receive a complete design and cost
estimate, with work agreement.
If you are satisfied with the design proposal and agree to the work agreement, the project will enter the fabrication
phase. A first payment of the 50% of the cost total is due before fabrication begins. The remaining 50% is due upon
receipt of the final product. Progress reports via e-mail or telephone are available upon request during the fabrication
phase. Some adjustments may be made during the fabrication process, but customers are encouraged to confirm change requests
as early in the process as possible. Unless changes require an additional fee, the final cost will be that agreed upon before
fabrication began. Finished pieces will be delivered within San Diego County. Long distance customers may have their pieces
shipped. Shipping charges will be billed at cost.
